Visit involved a warranty issue (Cat. Converter). The explanation of what was covered and what was not lacked creditability. Was told the engine light was the same for converter and cracked manifold, yet when I left the dealership with my car to take it to my mechanic for replacing manifold the light did not come on. The labor for the converter was 5.9 hours and 5.3 for the manifold. The 5.9 was covered by warranty yet they wanted to charge me the 5.3 hours to remove old manifold when the majority of the removal work was done to remove and replace converter. This is the second vehicle purchased from Star and I like it very much and will probably purchase another in the future. Since I have access to the very same software used by your mechanics I just don't like being BS'ed.
Katie was wonderful in advising on how long it would take and working out a courtesy car for me to use for the day so it could be done while I was working. They communicated when it was completed and then called back to ask if they could keep it until 5p so they could program the 2nd keyfob for me which I didn't even ask for but they looked in the file & noticed that I had only gotten one & they had promised a 2nd & I had forgotten about it, Everyone in the service department is always very friendly and helpful.
There is an ongoing pattern of needing to keep my car for a second day anytime something more than very basic service is needed and not communicating this until very late in the day. My appointment was specifically for A/C repair. If AC parts arent stocked, I should have been warned when I made the appointment that it would possibly be a two day job and I should have been offered a loaner. Neither happened. On top of the incredibly poor communication, my AC wasnt even fixed.
A yellow light came on, I called and made an appointment with no problems. When I brought the car in it was fixed right away. The only problem was with the extended warranty, Not Star's issue but the service rep, made multiple calls and saved me over $500!!!
